How Unicode Normalizer Works
A visible character may have several code point representations. NFC composes canonical sequences where possible; NFD decomposes them. The input e followed by a combining acute accent becomes é in NFC.
NFKC and NFKD additionally fold compatibility distinctions. A circled digit and a fullwidth letter can become ordinary 1 and A. These changes may lose information.

Å | Å | Boundary example |

const normalized = input.normalize("NFC");Formats, Boundaries and Limitations
Normalization is not translation, spelling correction or accent removal. NFC does not convert arbitrary fancy text to ASCII. Choose the form required by the receiving system.
The browser supplies its Unicode normalization implementation. The tool rejects lone UTF-16 surrogates and does not claim support for a newer Unicode version than that browser.
